As half of an interfaith couple, I'd like to chime in. My husband is Protestant and while we did have "dueling clergy" at our wedding it was done out of respect to both faiths and both families. Now, 15 years later, we have built a family life based on shared beliefs and the celebrations unique to each of us. We were fortunate that our families never questioned our choice of spouse. And we are all richer for it.

The My Turn column in Newsweek for Feb 15th is called "Asking and Telling in Israel" about gays in the Israeli military. Interesting stuff.
And I almost didn't ask him if I could take his picture, but I'm glad I did.

Fascinating blog, Laura. I didn't realize the double helix part. Sounds like comparing the physical windows was a good jumping off point.

Planned Parent published a beautiful response to this controversy, in advance of the Super Bowl. In essence, they thanked Pam Tibow for her strong support of their position that a woman should have the right to consider the advice of others and then make her own decision based on her personal needs/values... which is exactly what she did. How brilliant is that?!

If you don't terminate your pregnancy, you too can give birth to a good-looking star quarterback with a bright future! How naive. I have always wondered - how many right-to-lifers adopt unwanted children?

Stir it up!
I respect your courage for raising the issue.
Those that believe , either way, will not be persuaded by a commercial.

Rabbi Baum, I was wondering the same thing as I checked my facebook. But please remember that posting or clicking something on your facebook does nothing to truly help a group or organization other than to create name recognition. Not saying that you shouldn't be impressed with the grassroots movement that happens inside facebook. I am disturbed by how people think that clicking a cause on facebook makes a difference. Love the online Jewish community and I'm not even Jewish. Love to learn and watch. Thanks Rabbi Baum
